How I started my obsessions (1)

Nails.

This probably can tracked back to me being 7 years old, which is 13 years ago hahahah. My first ever nail polish experience is at age 7! And both my toes and fingernails are not spared anymore.

This all started when my aunt mistakenly placed a nail polish top coat out on the table. Out of curiosity, I decided to meddle with it for a while while aunt was away. The first smell at it, it was of course a strong weird smell. Not knowing what the hell is a nail polish, I started to abuse it by thinking that it was a paint brush. =w= So i painted on a coloring book, and later dug out more bottles of nail polishes from the cupboard. (opps)

Start of top coat painting-

I was so fascinated by the colors it produce and then excitedly ran to my mum to learn that that bottle was a 'nail polish' and its suppose to be used on the nail! So I decided to try it secretly for fun and I FALL IN LOVE WITH IT. *w*

My mum did not stop me from painting the top coat though~ So everyday, I went to school with painted clear nails. (Y) Until one day, my teacher noticed. D: And then I only had the top coat on my toenails.

As I grow older, I know of more colors the polishes had and of course I had to give it a try!! Hence,

Start of color-venture-

I always left my nails in colored during the school holidays and left my toenails colored through out. I really loved PE class or any event when we needed to take off our socks. So I can sort of 'show off' my colored nails. @.@ (thinking back, why did I???)

At age 12, I feel sense of accomplishment when people complement me for having painted nails. Though it was not any big thing but to me, I love it a lot. It gave me motivation to continue coloring nails. Heehee.

Plus I love how my really elder mature cousin keeps having nice pretty nails and I swore to be like her when I grow up!

At that time, I still kept my nails short but during secondary school, I started to be conscious on my nails. I really wanted LONG deco deco nails like in the magazines!

Start to grow out nails and blings-

I always try to leave my nails to the max shortest that I am allowed. And because I have no problem with my school attire and appearance, the discipline master would usually leave me alone. Hence I can hide my nails a bit.

And holidays, I will doll my nails using glitters or bling crystals! (That is my trend ok!) All the way till sec 3, I changed to metallic nail theme plus simple modern french and shapes. I still remembered I streak my nails thinking that it was a FRENCH nail =w=

Start nail art-

Soon after sec 4, I started to being trying nail art. I drew lots of designs using simple stationaries and tools. (toothpicks as brushes. real effective!)

Chinese New Year 2010 nail.

Start of nail shaping and care-

While painting, I learnt a lot of nail care basics from various people and articles. Then I started to care for my nails by applying the '5 coats' on nails. (base, 3x colors, top)

That was when I get into pastel trends and towards more arty feel. I did a few nail arts during my polytechnic days as I AM ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING TO MY NAILS ILYNP.

So I learnt to file and buff and shape my nails! Now I can file them into various shapes and sizes if requested. So I started to help friends to do some nail art if I am free~ Helping them file their nails~

Totally not at professional level OTL

So far, I am dried up on what nails I should draw but the addiction is damn strong to the extent that I cannot leave my nail bare for a day. I need at least to have a top coat on top. D:

I still have loads to learn for nail care and skills! Like 3D nails, acrylic nails (extension, art, moulds), gel nails and more fine art details! And also to professionally learn the usage of each nail tools!

I would love to go learn a nail course and get a certificate in nail design! It will be my dream if I get that *w*

Faster earn money and the first few things I will head for will be definitely nail art courses!!

My love for nails started from age 7 and counting on. ILY my nails. I love the people who invented nail polishes and mani/pedicures. *muacks!*

Although now parents are complaining like MAD, too late, I cannot change it. D:
So remember how just by a misplaced object, you can change a kid's future. Eheh

Rest of my nail art can be seen from my facebook.
